La Fondazione Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova partecipa con profondo cordoglio al lutto per la scomparsa di Maurizio Pollini,<\/strong> venuto a mancare oggi, sabato 23 marzo 2024. A world-renowned pianist, Maurizio Pollini was one of the most acclaimed musicians of the last 60 years, a brilliant interpreter of composers such as Chopin, Beethoven, Schubert, up to the avant-garde of Sch\u00f6nberg, Boulez, Nono and Stockhausen. Over the years, there have been several valuable opportunities to meet with the Teatro Carlo Felice.<\/p>\n

After completing his studies at the Milan Conservatory with Carlo Vidusso, Maurizio Pollini, just 18 years old, was the overall winner at the 1960 Chopin Competition in Warsaw. He then embarked on a concert career in the world’s major music centres, collaborating with the most influential conductors of our time. Particularly committed to the classical-romantic and contemporary repertoire, Pollini was able to enormously innovate piano technique, delivering some of the most intense musical interpretations ever. Among the most famous recordings are the complete piano works of Schoenberg, made on the occasion of the centenary of the composer’s birth, Beethoven’s Last Piano Sonatas<\/em> (1978), Chopin’s Ballades<\/em> (1999), Chopin’s Nocturnes<\/em> (2007). Pollini’s work in disseminating and promoting the ethical and cultural value of music is also of great importance.<\/p>\n
