Carmen The ninth opera of the 2024–2025 season at the Carlo Felice is just around the corner. Carmen is scheduled to run from 16 to 25 May 2025, conducted by Donato Renzetti. The life of Don José, a young brigadier serving in Seville, is turned upside down when he meets Carmen, a beautiful gypsy woman.

For her, he forgets Micaela, whom he intended to marry. Carmen would like him to become a smuggler so that he can live in freedom.

The love between Don José and Carmen is short-lived: their differences become increasingly pronounced, and she no longer feels love for him.

Don José senses that his mother is dying and must rush to her side, but he is overcome with jealousy at the thought of leaving Carmen.

Escamillo, a brave bullfighter, has fallen in love with the beautiful gypsy girl and invites her to see the corrida in Seville.

Don José meets Carmen at the corrida, but she is already in love with Escamillo...

Don José begs Carmen, ready to do anything she wants to get her back, but she refuses. Mad with jealousy, Don José kills her...
