Children's chorus

Announcement for the Children’s Chorus for the 2023/24 season

The Children’s Chorus of Opera Carlo Felice di Genova was born in September 2006 as the fulcrum of an educational project specifically dedicated to younger generations. One of the objectives of such a project was to further develop the role of cultural referent of the Theatre for the city by involving young people: from simple show goers, they could transform into the real protagonists of the activity of the artistic seasons.
Thanks to the activity of the chorus, not only the choristers but also their families have had the opportunity to approach and become familiar with an institution such as the opera house, often seen as distant if not completely unknown at times. On the contrary, opera naturally preserves the value of a privileged propulsor of cultural, artistic and social values.

Therefore, the singers of the Children’s chorus of Opera Carlo Felice di Genova grow through a first-person experience of music itself: during thirteen artistic seasons, over a hundred girls and boys of various ages (the chorus includes children from the age of eight up to seventeen-years-old boys and girls), they have had the opportunity to strengthen their musical skills, to live the experience of set up a lyrical/symphonic staging, to perform alongside renowned interpreters, arousing the interest from both critics and audiences in various occasions (about 100 performances), of which some have been recorded and broadcast on the Italian national radio RadioRai.
