Tony Hadley – Mad About You

The occasion to celebrate one of the most influential voices in pop that saw its beginnings with the New Romantic movement

Tony Hadley, one of the world’s most renowned male vocalists, returns to Italy in 2024 with a new tour, accompanied by the Fabulous TH Band, and a new swing album: The Mood I’m In, marking a new phase in his career five years after his last studio album, Talking To The Moon. The tour will be an opportunity to once again celebrate one of pop’s most influential voices, who has been on the crest of the wave for four decades, having seen his beginnings with the New Romantic movement, interpreting over the years such cult Spandau Ballet tracks as the epic Through the Barricades, the number one song in all the international charts True, and the unofficial anthem of the London Gold Olympics. On this trip around the peninsula Tony will therefore perform iconic songs from his time with Spandau Ballet, but also his solo songs, not forgetting a few covers. Italy has always been one of Tony Hadley’s favourite countries. After various collaborations with Italian artists (with Caparezza in Goodbye Malinconia, with Nina Zilli in Fairytale of New York), in 2019 he was a guest at the Festival Di Sanremo, accompanying Arisa in the song Mi sento bene, then at Propaganda Live on La Sette, where he played Through the Barricades and Obvious, and finally, this year, a very funny appearance at Fiorello’s on ‘Viva Radio2’.

The tour is organised by IMARTS – International Music And Arts.

Tony Hadley has performed as a soloist all over the world, both with his former band and with large orchestras. In 2005, he earned a Gold Badge award from the British Academy of Composersand Songwriters; in 2007, he won a large group of new fans by appearing in the musical Chicago as Billy Flynn in New York’s West End theatres. Talking To The Moon, his latest studio album, from 2018 (2019 for the Italian market) was Album of the Week on BBC2 Radio, and the first single Tonight Belongs To Us was Single of the Week. 2021 saw the release of Obvious, written with Mick Lister, also on BBC2’s top playlist. For years, Tony Hadley has presented the Sunday morning show on BBC3 Counties Radio. In December 2019, she received the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List for her charitable commitment to the Shooting Star Children’s Hospice.
